Drawing on the Pygmalion myth of Greek mythology as a starting point, we will examine its forms of representation in George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion and extended variations that have developed over the years in various art forms, in order to understand the universality of its theme. We will focus on the social class system, socialism, phonetics, feminism and other relevant issues depicted in Shaw’s play.
