Crescent Hall

Crescent Hall is used both for lectures and as a venue for briefings, concerts, plays, lectures, and symposia. It seats 2,200 in a semicircular, multipurpose hall.

The name Crescent Hall was chosen in 1984 from suggestions made in an internal competition. "Crescent" comes from the Latin crescere, meaning "to grow, flourish, or prosper." The name thus refers not only to the semicircular shape of the building and stage, but also to the desire that Chuo University will continue to grow, as does the waxing moon.
