Vice President and Director of the International Center Maki Kunimatsu Delivers Congratulatory Address at the Entrance Ceremony of Chuo University’s International Partner School, Japanese International School (JIS)

On September 4, 2026, the entrance ceremony for the Japanese International School (JIS), one of Chuo University's international partner schools, was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. Vice President and Director of the International Center Maki Kunimatsu attended the ceremony and delivered a congratulatory speech to the incoming students of the junior high and high school divisions.

In her address, Vice President Kunimatsu highlighted the strong affinity between JIS’s educational philosophy of "Wisdom" and Chuo University’s founding spirit of "Fostering the Ability to Apply Knowledge to Practice". She emphasized that in an era of rapid AI advancement, it is increasingly important for individuals to formulate their own questions, think independently, make sound judgments, and contribute to society while building trusting relationships with others. She encouraged the new students to embrace various learning opportunities and new encounters as a foundation for their future growth.

Founded in 2016, JIS is the first private school in Vietnam offering an integrated Japanese-style education system from kindergarten through high school. Classes are conducted in both English and Japanese, and many students aspire to pursue higher education in Japan and other countries. Chuo University established an international partnership agreement with JIS and has been welcoming degree-seeking international students through the international partner school recommendation admissions program since Academic Year 2023.

In March 2026, a delegation from Chuo University, including Chief Executive Director, Chair of the Board Masahiko Omura, and President Hisashi Kawai, attended the ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of JIS to extend their congratulations. Through the continued acceptance of international students and a wide range of exchange activities, the two institutions have built a strong relationship. Vice President Kunimatsu’s participation in this entrance ceremony is expected to further strengthen the friendship and collaboration between Chuo University and JIS.
