Faculty of Science and Engineering: Professor Mitsunori Makino Delivers Keynote Speech at WILLS 2026
From March 4 to 6, 2026, Professor Mitsunori Makino (Systems Analysis, Visualization and Computer Graphics Lab) of the Department of Information and System Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Engineering delivered a keynote lecture at WORLD IMMERSIVE LEARNING LABS SYMPOSIUM 2026 (WILLS 2026) held at the University of the Philippines Open University.
WILLS 2026 is a symposium that brings together educators, researchers, engineers, policymakers, and industry innovators to explores how immersive technologies—such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR)—can be advanced to contribute to a sustainable future.
Professor Makino delivered a keynote address titled:
"From Vision to Action: Building Sustainable Immersive Futures through Multimodal Interaction and Competency Development"
Following his lecture, numerous faculty members and students expressed interest and posed questions, opening the door to future collaboration in education and research.
In addition, at WILLS2026, Chuo University (the Faculty and Graduate School of Science and Engineering) concluded a collaborative agreement with five ASEAN institutions (from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand). A grand signing ceremony was held to commemorate the occasion.
