[Important] Alert Regarding Travel to Iran and Surrounding Countries/Regions To all students, professors and staff
Due to the sudden change in the situation in the Middle East (such as tensions between the United States and Iran), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) have issued a high alert. Please prioritize your safety and take the following actions:
1. Please cancel your travel to Iran
MOFA has issued a "Level 4 (Evacuation Advisory)" for all of Iran.
Please stop traveling to Iran, regardless of the purpose.
If the situation worsens further, there is a risk that leaving the country may become difficult due to factors such as airport closures.
2. Caution regarding surrounding countries and regions
The danger level information for the following countries has been raised due to changes in the situation:
Target Countries: Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Syria, Jordan, and Oman
Response: Please refrain from non-essential and non-urgent travel. Travel to areas with a "Level 4" warning is strictly prohibited.
3. [Urgent] Reporting of current status (for applicable individuals only)
The university must grasp the safety and status of students currently staying in the "target countries for information collection (Iran and surrounding countries)" to report to MEXT.
Those who are currently in these areas must immediately send the following information to the contact address below:
1.Name and Student/Employee ID Number
2.Current country and city of stay
3.(For those in Iran) Name of the host institution
4.Means of contacting you (phone number and email address)
5.Your current safety status
6.Scheduled date of return to Japan
