On September 19, the signing ceremony for “Triple-C Collaboration,” the agreement between Chung Ang University (South Korea), National Central University (Taiwan), and Chuo University, was held at Chung Ang University’s Seoul Campus. Chuo University already has individual partnership agreements with each university and has maintained ongoing exchanges with them. Now, with all three universities sharing the character "Chuo" (meaning "center") in their names, the new agreement aims to strengthen and deepen their collaborative relationships.
Representing Chuo University, President Hisashi Kawai, Vice President and the Director of the International Center, Maki Kunimatsu, Professor of the Faculty of Letters and the Special Advisor of International Center, Jihyun Yoon, Professor of the Faculty of Letters, Shigenori Wakabayashi, and Professor of the Faculty of Global Informatics, Jun Iio have attended the ceremony. Attending from Chung Ang University (South Korea) were, President Sang-Gue Park and Vice President Su-Han Woo, and from National Central University (Taiwan), Executive Vice President Jen-Inn Chyi and Vice President Chung-Pai Chang.
The ceremony began with the acknowledgement from representatives of each university. They shared their hopes and expectations for future collaborations, which was followed by a presentation from Vice President of Chung Ang University. The three universities then confirmed their commitment to collaborate in the following areas;
- ICT, Big Data, Collaborative Research in the AI field
- Joint research in the Humanities and Social Sciences area
- Joint Educational Program for students combining a short-term program and an exchange program
- Networking program for faculty members
- Holding Student Sports Events
- Entrepreneurship education
Afterward, representatives from each university signed the agreement, and they smiled for a commemorative photo. Before moving on to the luncheon, they were given a guided campus tour by a student, offering them a glimpse of life at Chung Ang University in South Korea, which was bustling with newly enrolled students. During the luncheon, they enjoyed friendly conversations in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
These three universities not only share their name “Chuo” (meaning “Center”), but also have similarities in their size and academic focus. We hope that Triple-C-Collaboration, a close cooperation among the three “Chuo” universities in East Asia, will create new value that contributes to society.
Chuo University actively pursues partnership agreements with universities around the world in light of fostering global professionals. Through these agreements, we aim to realize various opportunities for exchanges, such as sending and hosting students, as well as promoting research exchange.
