Chuo Future Vision for Globalization — Chuo Global-X: A Practical and Multifaceted Approach to Globalization
As globalization accelerates and global challenges grow more complex, Chuo University has established the Working Group on the Future Vision for Globalization and launched Chuo Global-X — a future vision for globalization that emphasizes a practical and multifaceted approach. This vision reflects our mission to cultivate individuals who contribute to the well-being of humanity.
The plan, approved at the Organization for International Initiatives Committee on June 10, 2024, sets forth the future vision for "realization of a Global Campus" in both its tangible and intangible factors. It outlines a comprehensive development strategy focusing on: (1) global human development and expanding overseas networks, (2) promoting the globalization of education and research, and (3) establishing institutional frameworks for globalization. The plan encompasses initiatives such as the Chuo Global Entrepreneurship Initiative (C-GEI), diversity and inclusion education, high school-university collaboration, and the expansion of partner institutions. A distinctive feature of the plan is its emphasis on an approach to "Accompanying support for globalization promotion (Global Links)," designed to ensure its adoption throughout the entire university organization.
In addition, with regard to the increase in students studying abroad and international students in Japan, we have launched a roadmap that outlines specific numerical targets and presents a short-term path to realization, based on the proposal of the government’s "Second Proposal of the Japan-Mobility and Internationalisation: Re-engaging and Accelerating Initiative for future generations (J-MIRAI) in 2023."
