A Message from the President

Chuo University is preparing to establish two new faculties in April 2027; the Faculty of Data Science, Sports and Wellness (tentative name), and the Faculty of Agriculture and Information Technology (tentative name).
These new faculties will introduce scientific and interdisciplinary perspectives to our Tama Campus, which has been consisted of mainly humanities and social sciences faculties. The realization of the new faculties represents a significant step in our efforts to further extend our academic fields and develop an integrated study of the humanities and sciences.

The year 2025 is a milestone for Chuo University. It is the concluding year of our mid-to long-term project plan “Chuo Vision 2025” as well as the starting year for shaping our next strategic initiative, “Chuo Vision 2035.” This new version will look ahead to Chuo University’s 150th anniversary which we are to celebrate in the final year of “Chuo Vision 2035.”

Chuo University has consistently initiated reforms to respond to the evolving demands of society. These efforts are grounded in the strong academic foundation and research excellence by our faculties, graduate schools, and research institutes built on our rich tradition and achievement. We will constantly keep challenging ourselves to propel forward and unite the strengths of our educational and research institutes to further enhance education, research, and social contribution.

The Faculty of Data Science, Sports and Wellness (tentative name), and the Faculty of Agriculture and Information Technology (tentative name) will serve as a vital base for generating new knowledge and fostering social collaboration, and moreover, a key pillar that strongly cultivate the future of Japanese society as a more “open Chuo University.” As one unified institution, Chuo University is committed to realize these goals.
