Celebrates 10th anniversary of Chuo’s Thai Office
On Thursday, February 13, 2025, a ceremony and symposium were held at our partner university, the Tha Prachan Campus of Thammasat University, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Chuo University Thai Office (Chuo-Thammasat Collaboration Center).
They were held in collaboration with two universities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Thai Office, which began operations in December 2014 on the second floor of the Faculty of Law Building at Thammasat University.
The ceremony was held in the meeting room Jetti Tingsapat on the first floor of the same building, where the office is located, and was attended by Rector Supasawad Chardchawarn and Vice Rector for International Affairs Supreedee Rittironk from Thammasat University, as well as Chair of the Board Omura, President Kawai, Executive Director Ohnuki, and Vice President Kunimatsu from Chuo University.
Additionally, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, the Director of JETRO Bangkok Office, and members of Chuo University Bangkok Hakumon-kai (alumni association) were in attendance as guests.
At the ceremony, congratulatory speeches were given by the Chuo University Chair of the Board, the Rector of Thammasat University, and the Vice Rector for International Affairs. After Vice President Kunimatsu introduced the history of exchange between the two universities, a joint declaration was signed by the Chuo University International Center and the Thammasat University Office of the International Affairs to further develop cooperation between the two universities in the future.
At the commemorative symposium that followed the ceremony, commemorative lectures were given by both universities in the fields of law, language and multicultural exchange.

After the symposium, a commemorative reception was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in the city.
The event provided an opportunity for officials from both universities to warm up old friendships and strengthen connections for the development of the two universities and the revitalization of exchanges. Ms. Kawamura, Director of the Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Division, Embassy of Japan in Thailand, attended the reception and gave a congratulatory speech in both Thai and Japanese.
