Alumna and Professor of Faculty of Economics receive Special Award at IEEE CogInforCom 2024

Ami Otsuka (an alumna of the Faculty of Economics (AY2023 graduate)), Atsushi Ito (Professor of the Faculty of Economics), and Akira Sasaki (CEO of GClue Inc., part-time lecturer of the Faculty of Economics) received the SPECIAL AWARD FOR AI SUPPORTED EDUCATION at the 15th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (IEEE CogInfoCom 2024) held at Chuo University Tama Campus from September 16th to 18th, 2024.

The paper's title was “Game Software Developing Platform Applying Conversational AI.”

After graduated Chuo University, Ami Otsuka continued her research, and finally, she received this award.

The study proposed a new approach to programming learning. In concrete terms, it is a learning method focused on creating requirements specifications using ChatGPT, the conversational artificial intelligence of Open AI. It aims for learners to deepen their knowledge of the design and mechanism of the entire program by creating and releasing software by themselves. Therefore, the study indicated results of considering how to utilize cutting-edge technology, such as conversational AI, in programming education. It also clarified the current status and issues of programming learning, proposed new learning methods, and evaluated their effectiveness.

She also received the 2023 Network Software Young Researcher Award from the Network Software Study Group of IEICE while a student at Chuo University.
