Guidelines for Chuo University Students Regarding the Spread of Coronavirus Disease(Update 3)

Chuo University

In response to the extension of declaration of a state of emergency for the new coronavirus in accordance with Article 32, Act on Special Measures for Pandemic Influenza and New Infectious Diseases Preparedness and Response, and the extension of the period of measures for emergency by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, on April 28, Chuo University revised its “Guidelines for Chuo University students regarding the spread of the coronavirus infection” issued on April 8. However, in light of the current situation, we have again revised the extension of the period of campus entry restrictions.

Chuo University has already implemented various measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus and we are very sorry that, at the moment, students are unable to make full use of our educational and research environment, and unable to engage sufficiently in activities such as studies, cultural activities, arts, sports, and volunteer activities. All students should proceed with their studies at home while paying close attention to maintaining their health and checking online notices from the University. All faculty members and staff of Chuo University sincerely wish for the continuing safety of all students and their families.

Chuo University students are prohibited from entering the campuses until May 31 (Sun). In addition, no extracurricular activities are allowed.

However, depending on the situation, we may change the period of campus entry restrictions or ease the entry restrictions.

In addition, regarding the phasing-out of entry prohibitions and use limitations on campus facilities, based on the State of Emergency and requests from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, we will keep you informed as we conduct safety inspections and make decisions regarding use of facilities in June and beyond.

As for facilities that require separate decisions because of the characteristics of the facilities, such as the International Residences and residences used by clubs belonging to the Association of Student Clubs, separate standards may be established. Please follow the instructions from the relevant facility management section.
