Prof. Yoji Taniguchi’s seminar in the Faculty of Economics visits China

Nineteen students from Professor Yoji Taniguchi’s seminar visited Chongqing, and Chengdu, Sichuan Province, in China, to engage in seminar activities (Global Field Studies) from September 13 to 17, 2018.
At Southwest University of Political Science & Law, School of Economics, in Chongqing, Prof. Taniguchi gave a mini-lecture, and then students of his seminar gave presentations in English. Following a speech by the seminar leader, the students divided into three groups, to make presentations, moderated by an overall host. The mutual exchange between students was such a success that it took a total of four hours, including a question and answer session and lunch. The visit was announced on the website of Southwest University of Political Science & Law, School of Economics.
Following the student exchange, students divided into small groups to conduct a field survey in Chongqing, and Chengdu, two of China’s fastest growing cities and positioned centrally in western China, which covered a wide variety of themes and perspectives, not only within economics, but beyond, ranging from dietary culture, tourism, fashion, history, culture, and transportation networks.
