Chuo’s President Attends the Inauguration Ceremony of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and University Presidents’ Forum
The inauguration ceremony of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and University Presidents’ Forum was held at Xiamen University (XMU) in China, from October 20 to 21, 2018, where Chuo University’s President, Tadahiko Fukuhara and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Kazuo Kashiyama, attended. The objective of the forum was to promote interaction and exchange of opinions between universities along the Silk Road, and 66 universities from 17 countries participated in the forum, with an active exchange of ideas on efforts being made at each university.
Chuo University has been actively promoting the exchange of students and researchers with Xiamen University, a venue of the forum, since 2014, when a comprehensive agreement was signed between the two institutions. Chuo University had an individual meeting with Xiamen University School of Law, and Ms. Ji Yuemei (an exchange student at Xiamen University from Chuo University’s Faculty of Commerce), served as an interpreter for the meeting.
