Prof. Hirano gives speech at Carnegie Endowment in D.C.

Prof. Hirano has served as vice chairman and chairman on panels of experts commissioned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications regarding AI’s social impacts, the results of which were adopted in the policies of the Japanese government, and gained approval in the G7 ICT Ministers' Meeting held in Japan last year, after Internal Affairs and Communications Minister Sanae Takaichi proposed these for adoption.

In addition, Prof. Hirano recently announced the abovementioned Japanese policies at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, and the OECD has started discussions toward adoption.

In his keynote speech, Prof. Hirano introduced an outline of the Japanese policy proposal and the need to obtain approval of the US and other countries.
