University Presidents’ Forum Taiwan

May 12 marked this year’s 2016 Taiwan-Japan University Presidents’ Forum, which took place at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.
This is a joint forum supported by Japan Committee of Universities for International Exchange (JACUIE) and Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET).

There were 66 universities participating from Japan and 75 universities from Taiwan.
From Chuo University, Vice President Toshikazu Kato attended the event to exchange information and network with universities from both countries.
The Forum kicked off from the exchange agreement signed between JACUIE and FICHET, followed by a keynote lecture, presentations from universities, and panel discussions on the topic “Globalization and the Challenges Confronting Universities in Taiwan and Japan”. During the Forum, participants were able to exchange the current status of higher education with each other. This Forum is held bi-annually taking turns in Taiwan and Japan. The next Forum will be held in 2018 in Hiroshima University.
Chuo University is a partner school with seven universities in Taiwan. We look forward to further active exchanges and network building with Taiwan in the future.
