Iizuka in the World Championships

Shota Iizuka (4th year Faculty of Law) will be running in the 14th World Championships in Athletics to be held in Moscow, Russia from August 10 (Sat) to August 18 (Sun).Iizuka beat the world track dispatch record at the 200m race held in the Shizuoka International Track Meet in May, claiming third place in national record of 20.21 seconds.
 

He has been selected to compete in the World Championships representing Japan, after his first win in June at the Japan Athletics.

In July, Iizuka won the bronze medal in 200m and silver medal in 400m at the Universiade. He plans to compete in the 200m and 400m relay at the World Championships.
