Chuo and Hohai Universities Deepen Water Cooperation

On April 24 President Wang Cheng of Hohai University, Nanjing, China, and several of his colleagues visited Chuo’s Tama campus and met with President and Chancellor Fukuhara, Dean Ishii of the Faculty/Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Professor Hesse, Director of the International Center, and Professor Yamada of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The participants exchanged information and opinions regarding international exchanges between the two universities, focusing on the “Program for Capacity Building in Global Water-Environmental Engineering,” which is supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as part of its “highly skilled professionals development exchange projects among universities in Japan, China, the Republic of Korea and other countries.” Hohai University proposed a new project of cooperation that Chuo greeted with enthusiasm, and both Presidents affirmed their determination to enhance their cooperative structure to develop further exchanges of faculty and students.
