Message from the president concerning the recent earthquake

  First and foremost, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to all those who
suffered tragic losses in the recent Tohoku-Kanto earthquake. I would also like to
extend my appreciation to all of our friends throughout the world for the concern they
have shown to the Chuo University community.
  Please be reassured that all of our students, faculty and staff members who were forced
to remain on Chuo University campuses* overnight due to the earthquake on March
11th spent the night safe and uninjured. While the situation remains serious both within
and outside the university, Chuo has resumed operations from today.
 

  We will continue to confirm and secure the safety of all students as our highest priority
and fulfill our duties as a research and education institution. We are also now
considering how best to provide support for those new and returning students from the
areas hardest hit by the earthquake. Lastly, I would like to extend my very best wishes
for the health and safety of all of our graduates; our students, graduate students and
their family members; and, for our entire Chuo University faculty and staff.

In addition to these campuses, Chuo University owns other facilities, including
dormitories and training camps, but no injuries have been reported at any of these
facilities.
