Specially Appointed Professor Yuki Harada of the Faculty of Global Informatics Presents at ITS2026 Tokyo

Yuki Harada, Specially Appointed Professor at the Faculty of Global Informatics, specializes in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Law, ICT Policy, and Consumer Protection.

Professor Harada recently presented at ITS2026 Tokyo (International Telecommunications Society 2026), held at Waseda University from June 28 to July 1, 2026.

The International Telecommunications Society (ITS) is an independent, neutral, non-profit organization of professionals in the fields of information, communications, and technology, maintaining a global network comprising approximately 400 members.

During a parallel session, Professor Harada presented under the title "Implications to Japan and other countries from the Use of ADR/ODR in Content Moderation within the EU."

In his presentation, Professor Harada examined Out-of-court Dispute Settlement (ODS) bodies—certified under Article 21 of the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) as Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) under the DSA, which is typically conducted online and thus also functions as Online Dispute Resolution (ODR). Focusing on the transparency reports published by certified ODS bodies, he discussed the implications of the EU framework for Japan and other countries.
