取り組み概要、意義、成果

FACTはFLP国際協力プログラムの学生を中心に組織された、フェアトレードに関する知識を深め、積極的に発信することでより多くの人にフェアトレードを知ってもらうことを目的として活動を行っている団体である。

2022年10月に、フェアトレード・ラベル・ジャパンによる講演会を開催した。講演会を通して、日本におけるフェアトレードの現状やフェアトレード認証について学んだ。
11月には白門祭に出店した。フェアトレード認証を受けているココアパウダーとシナモンパウダーを使用したチュロスを販売した。チラシや看板などを通し、多くの人々にフェアトレードを知ってもらえるよう工夫した。出店した3日間で500食以上を完売した。学内だけではなく、学外の方々にもフェアトレードを知ってもらう機会となった。

12月には山梨県の丹波中学校向けにフェアトレードの授業を行った。途上国の児童労働の問題をテーマにした。フェアトレードは児童労働を解決する1つの解決策であり、フェアトレードは労働者の権利を遵守する活動であることを伝えた。
またフェアトレードを身近に感じてもらうために、コンビニ、カルディ、イオン等で販売される商品を紹介した。途上国の児童労働、貧困、環境等の問題を意識して商品選択ができるように促した。

Overview of initiatives, significance, and results

FACT, an organization led by students of the FLP (Faculty Linkage Program) International Cooperation Program, has been engaged in various activities to deepen knowledge about fair trade and promote fair trade to more people by disseminating information about it. In October 2022, FACT invited Fairtrade Label Japan to give a lecture. Through the lecture, we learned about the current situation of fair trade in Japan and the Fairtrade Certification. In November, FACT sold churros made with cocoa powder and cinnamon powder, both of which are certified as Fairtrade, in Hakumonsai. FACT tried to make more and more people aware of fair trade through flyers, signs, etc. We sold out more than 500 meals in three days. It was a positive opportunity to make not only Chuo students but also people outside Chuo become more familiar with fair trade. In December, FACT offered a special class on fair trade for Taba Junior High School in Yamanashi Prefecture. We selected issues on child labor in developing countries as a theme for the class. We taught the junior high school students that fair trade is one of the solutions to child labor and is also a positive solution to protect workers' rights. In addition, we introduced products sold in familiar stores such as convenience stores, Kaldi Coffee Farm and Aeon Topvalu for the purpose of raising awareness of fair trade activities among students. We encouraged the students to choose fair trade products by considering issues such as child labor, poverty and environment in developing countries.
