2020、2021

DiversityWeekを開催し、女性の人権や活動に関する映画の上映、インクルーシブ教育の研究者、障害・病気を持つ人の話を聞くこと、留学生の座談会、多様な性自認・性的指向を持って生きられる社会実現に向けた講演会などを開催している。

【2020年度】
女性の人権や活動に関する映画については、日本初の女性医師を取り上げたものを上映したが、昨今の医大における入試問題等もあり身近なトピックとなった。参加した学生からは「当時、女性は結婚や妊娠、出産、家事、育児のほとんどを任せられていたが、今もなおその状態が続いていることにやはりもどかしさを感じた」等の意見が寄せられ、ジェンダーによって割り当てられる「生きづらさ」をどう解消するか考えるきっかけとなった。マイノリティ性を持つ人の話を聞くイベントでは、「かわいそう」から「理解」へ視点が変わったという意見が寄せられ、誰もが生きやすい社会、平等に暮らせる社会のビジョンを描くことができた。

【2021年度】
トランスジェンダー当事者二人による講演会を実施し、多様な性を生きることを学んでもらった。参加した学生からは「自分自身も人に固定観念を押し付けていないか問い直した」などの意見が寄せられた。また、障害を持つ人とスポーツについての講演を行い、パラリンピックでメダルを取った有能さのみによって多様性が保証されているということはないかという問いがなされた。参加者からは、「パラリンピックによって障がい者への眼差しが固定化され、生きづらさを生まぬように、一人ひとりの問題として考えていくことが求められていると感じた」との声が寄せられ、多様性について深く考える１週間となった。

DiversityWeek is held to show films on women's rights and activities, listen to researchers on inclusive education and people with disabilities and illnesses, hold roundtable discussions with international students, and hold lectures on the realization of a society where people can live with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations.

As for the film about women's rights and activities, we showed a film about Japan's first female doctor, which became a familiar topic due to the recent problems of entrance examinations at medical schools. Participating students commented, "At that time, women were entrusted with marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, housework, and most of the childcare, but I still felt frustrated that   this situation still exists today," etc. This provided an opportunity to think about how to resolve the "difficulty in living" assigned by gender. At the event to listen to the stories of people belonging to minorities, we received comments from participants that their perspective changed from "pity" to "understanding," and they were able to create a vision of a society where everyone can live comfortably and enjoy equality.

In FY2021, we held a lecture by two transgender people, giving participants the opportunity to learn about living with diverse sexualities. The students   who participated in the lecture commented that it made them question whether they themselves were imposing stereotypes on others. We also organized a lecture on people with disabilities and sports, and asked whether diversity is guaranteed only by the ability to win medals in the Paralympics. One participant commented, "I felt that the Paralympics should be considered as an issue for each and every one of us, so that we do not create difficulties in our lives because of the stereotyped view of people with disabilities.
