マイノリティの視点から実現する、インクルーシブな社会の実現

SDG’sは、「誰一人取り残さない」と謳う通り、健康的な生活の確保（3)、障害とは関係なく全ての人々の社会的、経済的包含の促進（10)、マイノリティの視点を取り入れたインクルーシブデザイン（17）など、「障害者」を取り巻く環境改善の取り組みと深く関わっています。私たちは都市環境におけるアクセシビリティとインクルージョンとして、だれもが住み続けられるまちづくりについて研究を行っています。
2023年度は、日本や欧米の空港をはじめとする施設のユニバーサルデザイン(UD)について、多様な障害者の当事者参加による①地方空港のインクルーシブデザイン診断、②東京空港国際線ターミナルの障害当事者によるUD検証の実施、③秋田空港の障害当事者を含んだ改修計画、④成田空港のUD検討委員会への参加などを実施しました。また、⑤羽田空港や日本航空などと共にニューロダイバーシティを対象とした発達障害者を対象とする実際の旅行を通した環境整備の取組みに関する実践的研究や、⑥新千歳空港に設置されたカームダウンクールダウンスペースの利用調査、⑦東京空港国際線ターミナルにおける障害当事者を含んだ避難計画調査など、移動に制約がある障害当事者と共に、空港や航空機を始めとする施設や設備の建築環境、人的支援などの社会環境のインクルージョンの充実に向けて研究を進めています。マイノリティが持つ視点から捉えたデザインには、マジョリティに対するデザインを牽引する力があります。どんな人でも排除されることのないインクルーシブな視点に立ったデザイン研究を通じ、「多様性」と「包摂性」が尊重される差別のない共生社会の実現を目指しています。

As the SDG's have stated that 'no one is left behind', they are deeply involved in initiatives to improve the environment for people with 'disabilities' on ensuring healthy living (3), promoting social and economic inclusion of all people regardless of disability (10), inclusive design that incorporates minority perspectives (17), etc. Our research focuses on making cities livable for everyone with accessibility and inclusion in the urban environment.
In the AY2023, we conducted the following projects on universal design (UD) at airports and other facilities in Japan, Europe and the USA, with the participation of various disabled parties: 1) inclusive design appraisal of regional airports, 2) implementation of UD evaluation by disabled parties at the Tokyo Airport International Terminal, 3) renovation planning including disabled parties at Akita Airport and 4) participation in the UD review committee at Narita Airport. Also, 5) practical research on environmental improvements through actual travel for people with developmental disabilities targeting neurodiversity with Haneda Airport and Japan Airlines, etc., 6) a survey on the use of the Calm Down and Cool Down spaces installed at New Chitose Airport, 7) a survey on the evacuation plan at the Tokyo Airport International Terminal that included disabled people. We are conducting research to enhance the inclusion of the social environment including human support and the built environment of facilities and equipment, including airports and aircraft, together with persons with disabilities who have got reduced mobility. Designs considered from the perspective views of the minorities have the power to drive design for the majority. Through design research from an inclusive perspective, in which no person is excluded, we aim to realise an equal, coexisting society in which 'diversity' and 'inclusiveness' are respected.
