既存キャンパスに調和する環境配慮型建築物

2021年2月に竣工した「FOREST GATEWAY CHUO」は、グローバルキャンパスを目指す本学多摩キャンパスの施設整備事業の一環として、教育研究組織の枠組みを超え、共用可能な新たな学びの場の創出を目的としている。
建築物としては緑豊かな周辺環境との調和を図るため、SDGsの目標達成にも合致した耐火木造やハイブリッド木造架構を採用し、内装については、多摩産材を一部活用するなど木質系仕上げを採用した。また、建物の最大の特徴でもある大きな四層吹抜のアトリウムを最先端の環境シミュレーションを利用して計画し、居住域空調や自然通風等により、快適性と省エネ性を両立している。
このような自然換気や昼光利用、加えて太陽光発電等の自然エネルギーの効果的な活用により、エネルギー消費量を基準値より52％削減し、ZEB-Ready※（計画値）を達成している。既存キャンパスに調和しつつ、脱炭素社会に貢献できる先進的な建築物の事例となっている。

The "FOREST GATEWAY CHUO," completed in February 2021, is part of the facility improvement project for the Tama Campus, which aims to become a global campus, and aims to create a new learning space that can be shared beyond the framework of educational and research organizations. In order to harmonize the building with the lush green surroundings, fire-resistant wooden and hybrid wooden structures were adopted to meet the goals of the SDGs, and wood finishes were used for the interior, including some Tama-grown wood.
In addition, a large four-story atrium, which is one of the most distinctive features of the building, was planned using state-of-the-art environmental simulations, and the air conditioning and natural ventilation in the living area provide both comfort and energy efficiency. Through the use of natural ventilation and daylight, as well as the effective use of natural energy such as photovoltaic power generation, energy consumption has been reduced by 52% from the standard value, achieving ZEB-Ready* (planned value).
It is an example of an advanced building that contributes to a decarbonized society while harmonizing with the existing campus.
