テーマ： 「ビュクリュカレ遺跡発掘調査最新成果」

要　旨：

2019年度ビュクリュカレ遺跡発掘調査では初めてフルリ語楔形文字粘
土板文書片が出土しました。北シリアを中心とした強国ミタンニを打ち
立てたフルリ人の言語であるフルリ語で書かれた粘土板文書はアナト
リアではヒッタイトの首都ハットゥシャのほかオルタキョイ、カヤルプナル
という３つの重要な都市でのみ見つかっており、そのすべてが宗教文書
です。今回はこの粘土板を含めた最新の発掘成果についてお話したい
と思います。

テーマ：　The relief of Harput: A new page in a history of Ancient
         　   Anatolia

要　旨：

In the spring of 2016, a unique stone relief (measurement 2.72 x 2.24m)
was accidentally discovered during tree-planting activities on top of
the Kurey Hill (1372m) located a couple of kilometres, east of the
Elazığ in eastern Turkey. A rescue excavation was conducted at the find
spot by Elazığ Museum within the same year. The relief belonged a
heavily burned architectural layer together with Middle Bronze Age I
pottery typical of the Elazığ-Malatya region, suggesting that this
relief was made in the first quarter of the second millennium BC by
local artists.
The main subject of the relief is the capture of a fortress. Episodes of
the battle are depicted in horizontally arranged registers. This
surprising narrative relief represents advanced design and craftsmanship
developed from the Early Dynastic Period (c. 2900-2350) to the Akkadian
era. As an architectural decorative item, it is different from other
victory steles like the Eannatum Stele (Stele of Vultures) or the Stele
of Naram-Sin. It is therefore unique in ancient Near Eastern art with
many details that are truly remarkable and that are in many ways
precursors of what later become standard components of depictions of war
in Neo-Assyrian art.
