Dear Students of Chuo University【6/11掲載の学生相談室からのメッセージ Vol.3 英語版】

Dear Students of Chuo University

The new academic year has started though you take online classes as you cannot enter university campus. The regulations are gradually mitigated but even now there is a limit to go there.

How is your daily life?

You may be stressed out by one-way classes, reports, a financial problem, a limited job hunting, prohibition of meeting friends or joining your club.

I heard “I cannot understand the class” “I cannot make it to hand in a lot of reports.” “I’m worried if relationship changes because I haven’t met my friend for a long time.” Particularly, new students may be anxious about the exams you will take for the first time.

In this situation, some people may dawdle all day, watch a video or play a game for a long time, gain your weight because of overeat without intention. If you live alone it may be difficult to do something for a change. If you live with your family, you spend much time with your family, which may stress you. In your age, the relationship with your family tends to be changing as compared to your childhood. You may tend to be irritated or argue with them when you spend much time with your family. These would make you feel down. And “Corona virus depression” and “Corona blue” are brought up on TV news. It means people feel depressed by frustration to stay at home for a long time, anxiety about your risk for infection, an unpredictable future, impatience, depression or sleeplessness.

It is said that ways of coping with them are exercising, not watching Corona virus news for a long time and imaging a positive future. And it is effective to talking to someone. You may see your friends as fortunately the regulation is mitigated.

If you do not see them, I recommend you have an opportunity to call them or see them online.

If you feel difficult it to do so, please do not hesitate to call us. You can talk about anything such as your study, health, relationship and family issues.
