Entrance Exam for Foreign Student Admission

Method A
(April 2020 Enrollment)
Applicants meeting all of the following requirements:
1.Applicants holding foreign citizenship
2.Applicants who have (or expect to have) completed 12 years of schooling overseas by March 31, 2020
3.For applicants whose 12 years of schooling includes a period enrolled at a Japanese school(including an international-type school located in Japan), those whose time in Japan while enrolled at the junior high school or high school level is no more than three years in total
Note: Persons who have graduated from (or expect to graduate from) a Japanese high school may not take the entrance examination regardless of their length of time in Japan.

Applicants must take the Japanese version of the 1st session or 2nd session of the 2019 Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU). (Examination questions will be presented in Japanese.) Additionally, applicants must meet one of the following requirements from a corresponding test administered from December 2017 or later.
●TOEFL iBT® score of 42 or more
●TOEIC® L&R score of 550 or more and TOEIC® S&W score of 240 or more(IP test excluded)
●IELTS(limited to the Academic Module) of 4.0 or higher
Method B
(September 2019 Enrollment)
Applicants meeting all of the following requirements:
1.Applicants holding foreign citizenship
2.Applicants who have (or expect to have) completed 12 years of schooling overseas by the time of their enrollment at Chuo University

Those applying for Faculty of Global Management Method B do not need to take the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students(EJU).
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements from a corresponding test administered from April 2017 or later.
●TOEFL iBT® score of 72 or more
●TOEIC® L&R score of 785 or more and TOEIC® S&W score of 310 or more(IP test excluded)
●IELTS (limited to the Academic Module) of 5.5 or higher

However, submission is not required if (1) or (2) below apply.
(1)Persons who, in 12 years of schooling, have been enrolled in an English-based curriculum for at least seven years, including six years of secondary education (curriculum corresponding to years 7 through 12 and at least one year of elementary education)
(2)Persons who, in 12 years of schooling, have been enrolled in an English-based curriculum for at least 10 years in total
* Applicants will be required to submit a graduation certificate, academic transcript or similar documentation from the institute where they received the English-based schooling.
