テーマ：Perceptual processing in the development of script knowledge in Chinese as a second language.（第二言語としての中国語の文字発達における知覚処理について）

要 旨：The character-based Chinese script presents a great challenge to second language learners of Chinese, especially those from alphabet-based languages like English. As perceptual objects Chinese characters are highly complex and vary greatly across the roughly 2000 characters a university Chinese L2 student will encounter. This talk examines the role of form-focused perceptual processing in character learning outcomes in an Australian university classroom.
